The 1st International Photography Biennial of the  Islamic World – The photos are small but I stumbled upon this while I was looking into more info on the Graphic Biennal. The photos are very interesting — some sets are visually arresting. You can learn more here.  

Jen Stark – simply amazing and so colorful… made with paper. 

Everyone recognizes the famous poster of Obama that became the face of his campaign and design of his ‘hope and change’. Even if you dont know that the poster was designed by Shepard Fairey. The poster has stirred much inspiration but at the same time some disturbance in the world of design. I recently learned that the design was not an original work but was a reference to an AP photo (here) using borrowed techniques by other artists. Design king, Milton Glaser, talks to Print magazine (here) about his views on the matter and he’s not a happy designer. 

On the other hand, people have taken a different take on the poster and what it represents. As a tribute to the success of his win you can make your own poster icon courtesy of Paste magazine.
