First, I want to say thanks to all my readers out there — Visually Arrested has hit the one year mark and its been a good learning experience. I hope the new year brings new ideas, blogs and readers!
Second, I randomly came across an image on FFFFound and traced back the source to Ibraheem Youssef – a designer/director from Toronto! His custom appreciation cards are fantastic and personalized. I instantly found myself drooling over the design, consturction and wishing I got one in the mail myself. Check out some of his other cool stuff here!

Beautifully said and designed posters by Harmonie intérieure. Available for purchase here, all the way in France. Comes in two sizes, (17.5″ x21.4″ – $36 or 23,4″ x 27,3″ – $49)

“Waafia (waa-fee-uh) is a U.S. based company that specializes in Islamically oriented and sunnah-conscious clothing and accessories.” Waafia creates Muslim-in-mind gifts and accessories that are cute (see personalized custom pillows) and practical (see fridge magnets)!

Waafia has an array of products that are diverse from baby to youth and to adults. My favorite has to be the “Arabic Alphabet Poster” available in a variety of colors and designs. They’re a great gift for anyone, especially those with an affinity for arabic design!
A great company to support, visit the full site here – where you can order your very own personalized pillow!

I discovered Muslamb through a friend (thanks Aaisha!) – the designs are cute as ever and very trendy and best of all pressed by hand! I could see a lot of young Muslims really enjoying the products. Visit Muslamb’s etsy shop here.

I thought this doorknob hanger was hilarious!

Dobo, Inc is a graphic design company that offers exceptionally designed products that range from cards, calendars, wall arts, and gifts. Dobo is another ISNA find that are always something to look forward to every year in the bazaar. Here are some of their products that are so beautiful. Makes for some great gifts! See more here.

I discovered Barakah Life at ISNA 09 and absolutely loved the clean design style. The Azaan prints are beautifully designed prints/images for your home decor. They also have some cute stuff for kids (Ramadan star calender, etc) check them out here.

Sakina Design was another very cool design, art venture at ISNA 09. The online store doesn’t open till August 2009 (watch for it here) but promises clean and simple, yet elegant (think West Elm) designs. I am really looking forward to it. Here’s a picture from the booth at ISNA. Sakina Design is definitely something to watch out for!

I discovered PA at ISNA 2009 in Washington DC and was pleasantly surprised by their thoughtful creative designs that carry a deeper message that all of us should be aware of. Creative and smart, that’s pretty awesome. Here’s a statement from the PA site (here) I found to be moving:
Profound Aesthetic is a method of self-expression coupled with the intellectual stimulation of twentieth century popular culture, encouraging people to think for themselves and to find the greatest beauty in the simplest of concepts. Profound Aesthetic is discovering the intellectual depth in that which is pleasurable to the senses in every visual format of expression.
